After years of trial and error (and more than a few “learning experiences”), I finally dialed in a TradingView layout that makes dividend capture almost second nature.
Today, I’m giving you that layout — free — so you can skip the rookie mistakes and jump straight to the good part. This is the TradingView layout I wish I’d had on day one—simple, fast, and purpose-built for dividend capture.
Why a Custom Layout?
Default layouts are fine for day traders or long-term investors, but dividend capture needs a clear view of yield, dates, liquidity, and momentum—without noise.
The Core Indicators
- 20-DMA & 50-DMA: quick read on near-term momentum and pullbacks
- Volume (pane): confirm strength on pushes and rebounds
- Dividend markers: annotate ex-div dates on chart (TradingView’s built-in)
My Multi-Timeframe View
- Daily: trend + key levels
- 15-Minute: entry/exit timing around ex-div windows
Template: How to Load It
- Download the free “DivCap TradingView Layout” from the link below.
- TradingView → Load Layout → Import the file.
- Save it as “DivCap — Daily + 15m”.
Best-Practice Settings
- Sessions: show extended hours off (less noise)
- MA colors/width: keep high-contrast and consistent
- Scales: lock MA visibility on both timeframes
Alerts I Add to Every Ticker
- Price touch at pre-planned entry zone
- Cross above 20-DMA (momentum back)
- Calendar reminder 1–3 days pre ex-div
