Your compass for disciplined, profitable dividend capture—built for speed and simplicity.
What it is
Trading without a log is like raiding without a map—you’re going to get lost. The Trade Tracker is your compass.
It’s a lightweight, ADHD-friendly logging tool designed specifically for dividend capture.
It does three things exceptionally well:
- Captures trades in real time — ticker, entry, exit, ex-dividend date, dividend, and outcome.
- Surfaces patterns you can’t see in your head — recovery times, repeat offenders, stealth winners.
- Keeps you accountable — no more “winging it” or forgetting why you entered the trade.
Think of it as your black box recorder: when something goes wrong, you’ve got the data; when something works, you’ve got the recipe.
How it works
- Enter the stock/ETF you’re capturing (ticker + name).
- Log the ex-dividend date and your entry (date/price; planned exit rule).
- Record your exit (date/price) and whether you collected the dividend or just played the swing.
- Review the summary fields (P/L, yield on cost, hold time, win rate, notes).
That’s it—four steps. The magic isn’t the data entry; it’s what appears after 10–100 trades:
you’ll see repeatable patterns, confirm edge, and cut losing behaviors fast.
Why it matters
- Exposes mistakes quickly (hello Sloth and Greed from the Seven Deadly Sins).
- Builds confidence with proof your system works—on your trades, not theory.
- Shortens the learning curve from years to weeks by turning trades into feedback.
- I built it for my own use because there wasn’t anything like it to download. If you bought the book, you got it free with the book!
Skipping the tracker is like throwing away free tuition.

Quick answers
Is this different from the Trade Log?
Yes. The Trade Tracker is your live, in-progress dashboard for current captures; the Trade Log is the historical archive and analytics view.
Do I have to use every field?
No. Start with ticker, entry, exit, ex-date, and outcome. Add notes and advanced fields as you build habit.
